Teepees
were usually about 3m (10 ft.) high and 4.5m (15
ft.) across at the ground.
The frame of the tepee was made of long wooden
poles pointed together and fastened at the top.
The bottoms were spread out to form a circle. Around the framework as many
as 20 buffalo hides were stretched for enclosure.
A flap covered the low slit entrance and animal
hide was used as flooring against the cold.
These
Indians would often paint decorations on the
outside of the teepee.
